THE SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY

The bi-weekly concert at the Sailors’ Eriend Society on Tuesday was given by Mr Gerald Bell and his ready helpers. They received very many encores. The performers were Mesdames Gerald Bell, Walter Gibb, G. D. Holland, the Misses D. Robson, Amie Woodward, and Messrs Gerald Bell, Harry Phipps, Barton Ginger, H. G. Robertson, Nicholls, Strombrong, Holmes, Bruisey. Miss Dorothy Robson was at the piano. “What of this?” was the subject of Mr James Moore’s temperance address, and men freely added names to pledges. The competitions once again filled a happy place on the evening’s pleasures ; the prizes came from Air and Airs Gerald Bell, and went to the men in port.
