THREE CHARGES ADMITTED COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE. CHRISTCHURCH, November 24. On returning to his home in Cass street, Kaiapoi, on November Bth, after an absence of about two weeks, L. Pearce found Hint tho dwelling had been entered and that carpenters’ tools and personal belongings to a value of £24 Os 6d had been stolen. An attempt had also been made to sot fire to the house. As a result, Rudolph Kreft and Arthur Henry Albert Gordon pleaded guilty in the Police Court, Kaiapoi, this morning, to a charge of theft. Constable E. Warren stated that be interviewed Kreft on November Bth, and recovered all tho property produced except a saw and a gold ring. Tho accused admitted stealing tha articles, and later to returning and setting fire to the house; also that on October 16th lie liqd sot fire to' a fence on J. Taylor’s property in Fuller street., and on November 2nd to having set fire to A. J. Wilson’s house in Cam road. Kreft was further charged with wilfully setting fire to a dwelling. Ho pleaded guilty. Both accused were committed for sentence.
