CRICKET CONTROL
DEPUTATION TO COUNCIL “A VITAL MATTER.” Mr C. G. Wilson presided at the meeting of the Wellington Cricket Association last eveiflng, others prclent being Messrs H. M. McGirr, TI. J. Buck, A. Ronaldson, R. Johnston, D. McKenzie, C. Drummond, L. J. Brabin, W . R. Bock, W. Chrisfopherson and Mr A. Varney (secretary). A letter was received from the Auckland Cricket Association thanking the management committee for so kindly entertaining the new coach, Mr Bowley, upon his arrival in Wellington. NEW YEAR IN CHRISTCHURCH. A letter from Canterbury Cricket Association suggested that the match between Canterbury and Wellington representatives at Christchurch should
begin on December 31st (Friday) instead of on January Ist. It was stated that the match in Wellington beginning at 2 o'clock on Christmas Day would probably run well into the fourth day (Wednesday), and it would mean leaving for the south the same evening. It was decided to adhere to the opening day on Saturdav Januarv Ist. DEPUTATION TO CITY COUNCIL. The Sports Protection League wrote asking the council to appoint delegates to join the league’s deputation to the City Council on Thursday, December 2nd, on the subject of the city reserves, tepid baths, etc. The chairman: It is a vital matter and I think it would be a very wise thing if we all go and hear what is going on. The secretary was desired to reply accordingly.
