THE WEST HENSHAW. ' In continuation of her voyage from Pacific Coast ports the American steamer West Henshaw leaves Auckland today for Napier. Lyttelton, and New Plymouth to complete her discharge. THE CANADIAN SCOTTISH. Leaving Wellington to.-da.y the Canadian Government Line steamer Canadian Scottish completes discharge and commences loading at Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company have received cable advice that the liner lonic, Homeward bound from New Zealand, left Colon on Thursday last, November 18th, for Southampton. SHOAL GROUND OFF CAPE FOULWINj,. Captain A. S. Dalgleish, nmster of tho Kaiapoi, reports having obtained a sounding of 11 fathoms fine sand with a sprinkling of shell when making Westport from the westward in thick weather on October 29th. Tho position of shoal sounding is given by Captain Dalgleish. as Cape Foulwind lighthouse, nearing south 80 deg. east, magnetic, distant 10 miles. Captain Dalgeish further reports having obtained a least sounding of 18 fathoms, showing a bottom of similar nature with Cape Foulwind Ughthouso bearing east i north, magnetic, distant 16 miles IMPORTANT SHIPPING AfERGFR. A merger of the fleets of passenger and cargo steamships of tho Admiral Oriental Line and the Dollar Steamship Line with operation of‘ tho fleet of nine vessels in. a horseshoe route between Seattle and San Francisco and ports in Japan, China, Philippine and Hawaii, has been approved by tho United States Shipping Board, which considered a joint application of the two steamship lines for permission to change the routing of the two fleets, which now operate independently of each other from Seattle and San Francisco to Oreintal ports. Under the new arrangements, which will probably go into effect about January Ist, there will be a trans-Padific saiftpg of on© of these 535 ft liners evefy two weok« from Seattle and every two weeks from San F rancisco. FIRE ON RIMUTAKA

SOME CARGO JETTISONED. LONDON, November 21. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Rimutaka lias wirelessed, via Balboa, that she had a fire in the ’tween-decks on November sth. It was extinguished after considerable damage to the cargo and insulation, part of which was jettisoned. The Rimutaka left New Zealand on October 26th for London, with a cargo of Dominion products.
