GUILTY OF INDECENCY
“ONE AS BAD AS THE OTHER” PRISONER GRANTED PROBATION Per Press Association. PALMERSTON NORTH, Nov. 22. John David Mitchell, a young man, who pleaded guilty at Ohakunc, to a charge of carnal knowledge, appeared at the Supreme Court this morning for sentence. In reply to counsel’s plea Tor probation which, in his report, the probation officer recommended, Mr Justice Reed said : "This is a comparatively venial case of its class. The girl’s mother attaches as much blame to the girl as to the prisoner/’
