The County Cricket Advisory Committee discussed the advisableness of assisting bowlers, and agreed to favour a smaller ball. It appointed a subcommittee, consisting of Lord Harris and Messrs Dixon, Higson and Jupp to consider the matter, and also the question of paying less attention to the preparation of wickets. Concerning the number of days allotted for tests, it was decided to await the effect of any alteration the subcommittee might recommend. Lancashire’s proposal, to abolish the tea interval on the third day of Tests, was adopted.
