HAWERA, November 22. “That the association views with great seriousness the development of the system of selling goods on a small deposit, and that it considers a system whereby people are enabled to purchase articles valued from £lO upwards for a deposit of 2s 6d prejudicial to the interests of trade, that people are encouraged to live beyond their means.” This was the text of a motion passed at a meeting of the South Taranaki Grocers’ Association, and is to he sent to the Government. The Chamber of Commerce and allied associations, will bo circulated asking for their support.
