DIES AFTER OPERATION

CHRISTCHURCH, November 20. Stephen Payne, who was badly injured in a collision with a motorvan on Thursday, died at Cbrisjchurcli Hospital this morning. Last Thursday Payne was cycling across tho intersection of Linwpod avenue and Cashel street, when the collision occurred, and he was thrown to the ground suffering concussion. Last night he underwent an operation, but his condition did not improve. Payne was 45 years of age.
