The “Daily Herald” says the miners’ delegate conference will no doubt direct that the Government be informed Of the result of the voting, olid the conference will have to decide whether any further approach shall be made to the Government, or the national negotiations 'abandoned. One of the alternatives being considered is that the districts should proceed with local negotiations, . and report results to a further national conference. In any case, the vote of the rank and file is regarded aB a decision to fight on for honourable terms, and the policy will he determined in that light. UNEXPECTED REVERSAL LONDON, November IS. It is estimated that an unexpected swing of the miners’ vote will result (? jn a majority) of at least 100,000 against the proposals. Mr A. -J. Cook, secretary of the Miners’ Federation, declared that the future policy of the miners rested entirely with the delegates at the conference on Friday. He added that the only thing certain is that the miners ‘have overwhelmingly rejected the proposals.
