WORLD’S LONGEST TUNNELS It is now possible to travel for twenty miles on a railway which, beginning far to the North-West of London, at Edgware, dives beneath the Metropolis and emerges in the SouthWest at Morden, five-and-a-half miles from Epsom. The tunnels to carry the line are the longest in existence. The fare for the whole distance is ninep-ence. The work has cost nearly ten millions sterling, and British industry has considerably benefited from the provision of materials. .
