ELDERLY DOCTOR’S LONG WALKS
Forty-four miles in one day over rough roads at the age of 64 is the holiday walking* record of Dr Sir John Robertson, medical officer of health for Birmingham, while in Switzerland. The majority of people are debarred. Sir John says, from walking—the greatest of all exercises—through foot deformities due to ill-fitting boots. He urges that boot salesmen should bo so educated that they will sec that customers are properly fitted. Sir John hopes to arrange demonstrations Jjy people who know the anatomy of the foot and have a knowledge of the footwear worn by the working classes, to ensure that the people in most rieed of the.best foot comfort shall have an opportunity of obtaining it.
