“ELIZA COMES TO STAY”
Another big West End London sue cess will be staged on Monday and following nights in H. V. Edmonds’s farcical comedy in three acts, “Eliza Comes to_ Stay,” which met with immediate success in London, and was unanimously acclaimed tho finest farce comedy since “Charley’s Aunt.” “Eliza” is ! somewhat late in coming to “stay” in New Zealand, hut there is an optimistic . provorb, “Better late than never.” Messrs Dick White and Eric Edgley, the directors of Joseph Cunningham’s New English Comedy Company, are to be congratulated on giving citizens this fine farce comedy in a superb setting and a very brilliant cast, which includes Miss Zillab Bateman as the quite irresistible Eliza, 15Ir Campbell Copelin as the Honourable Sandy Verrall, Miss Henrietta Cavendish as Lady Pennybroke, Mr Frank Bradley as slontagu Jordan, Mr Norman Carter as Alexander Stoop Verrall, Miss Sylvia Clifton as Vere de Vere Laurance, and Miss Bryl Barraclough as Mrs Alla way. “Eliza Comes to Stay” is one continuation of laughs; the dialogue, business, and situations denoting the hand of the experienced master of clean and wholesome fnree-comedy. The tenancy of the Grand Opera House being limited, and the success of “Eliza Comes to Stay” being assured, the management have decided to present this comedy during the remainder of the present season, which will positively close on Saturday next, November 27th. The box plans for tlie full season are now available at the Bristol Piano Company, and day sales may be procured at the Grand Opera House confectioner store.
