UPPER HUIT PLUNKET SOCIETY

The monthly meeting of the Uppef Hutt Piunket Society vas held on November 9th, Mrs F. Leckie presiding, the following committee members being present: Mesdames Irving, Thomas, Hunt. Whyte, Dellar, Nicol, Kitchen, C. E Jones. S. D. Rogers, Miss O’Hara Smith. Nurse Ellis reports for the month of October: Number of new babies 6. wholly breast fed 6; visits to rooms. Upper Hutt 119. Trentham 30. Silverstream 15: visiti to homes 103. A section has recently been purchased on the Main road. Upper Hutt. and the committee are now working very enthusiastically raising funds for the erection of a new building. A dance is to be held in tho kiosk at Trentham on November 24th towards this object, and a very handsome sunner cloth, made bv Mrs Dellar, of Silverstream, is being raffled by kind permission of the Minister for Internal Affairs. Much regret was expressed at tho resignation of Mrs Crabtree, who has left tho district, and of Airs T/owe. from the general committee, owing tn ill-health. During the month subscriptions and donations were received from Nurse Lomax, Mesdames Cox. Shepherd. CVvmisky, Mumbv. Mcßreartv. and Fletcher.
