Kragnasa, there fa no prospect of * visit from American champions tins ectssnn- The qomtoUnicatjon further jn'tim%tes that the committee of the Amateur Athletio Union of America refuses to sanction a tour to New Zealand as was proposed. In a statement issued 'by the secretary of the N.Z.A.A. Council it appears that until a letter is received from Mr ftrogness, givii particulars of the decision, .the council does not hhew h ow it stands in regard to future tears. “The American A-A.IJ. committee, which deals with such matters as tours,” ho added, “has decided that American athletes going abroad are not allowed to remain in the country they are visiting for more than twenty-one days. At the annual meeting of the A.A.U., which was to have Men held last Tuesday, an application for a tour of America by European athletes was to be discussed, and it is probable that as that one may have been turned down the authorities have had to take similar action ip regard to the proposed tqur to New Zealand.” Although the Americans will not be coming, arrangments have been com, pleted for the visit of the noted Australian opiateur cyclist, R. W Lamb; so that the New Zealand season will not he without a special attraction'.
