At an extraordinary general meeting of the Commercial Bank of Australia, to be held in Melbourne on December 9th, the directors will make a recommendation to the shareholders that the capital should be increased by the creation of 2,000,000 new ordinary shares, which will make the registered capital of the bank .£5,000,000. This course is considered desirable in order to provide for the requirements of the bank's increasing business nnd for future expansion. It is not the of the directors to issue the whole of the shares at one lime, but at such times as they may conconsider expedient in the. interests of the bank. ' It is proposed that the iuw shares shall be issued at a premium of 10s per share, and shall be offered in the first instance to both classes of shareholders in proportion to the number of shares held by them respectively.
