The Victorian State Ministry suffered another defeat in the Legislative Assembly when the Government’s proposals for re-division of the State into electoral districts on the lines of the Boundary Coqsmission’s report were rejected by 33 votes to 30. The Premier (Mr J. Allan) announced that the Ministry would -not resign, as it had made up its mind to pass a Redistribution Bill. The proposals would he referred back to the .Commission.
