KING’S THEATRE

TO-NIGHT!—SENSATIONAL COMEDY. Norma Shearer delights with her appealing beauty and really inspired acting. Definitely established as » dramatic actress of talent through

her appearances in ’‘Ho Who Gets Slapped” and “The Devil’s Circus,” her work in this new film just as unmistakably ranks- her as a comedienne of rare ability. The promise of fame in lighter roles made in “A Slave of Fashion,” has its fulfilment here. Many- a picture lias been a boxoffice success with Lew Cody alone. With him in support of Miss Shearer something akin to a sensation is achieved. Willard Louis is well known as a superb character delineator and comedian, Karl Dane is another positive force in motion pictures. First a famous Danish stage, celebrity, and tKen a film of acknowledged worth, he has rapidly acquired a large following. “His Secretary,” which is the attraction now at the King’s Theatre, tells of a plain 'business girl who is in love with her employer, to whom she is secretary, but it is all too clear to both girl and the other employees that her affeotion 1« not requited. The manner in which she wins his regard, astounding her, little world by a sudden transformation from an unattractive dowd to a surpassingly beautiful woman, makes an excellent picture of high quality. There is a large supporting pro-, gramme with excellent incidental music by the King’s Select Orchestra.
