“IRE UNFAIR SEX”
AN HILARIOUS COMEDY. "The Unfair Sex,” a broad but extremely clever and amusing comedy production in three acts, was presented to another delighted audience at the Grand Opera House Inst evening by John Cunningham's English company. The plot is highly diverting and entirely ingenious, dealing with matrimony, the divorce court, the birth rate, and golf in such a way as to provoke the heartiest laughter throughout the piece. As a burlesque on the traos and pitfalls that await young married couples, it is unsurpassed in humour and loses none of its piquancy in its presentation by the several talented artists in the company. The incidents followed each other in quick succession, and there is not a dull moment. Tt is a crowded full day. Miss Zillali Bateman again proved herself a capable actress in tho exacting part of the philandering wife, Diana Trevor. As Joan Dolisse. Miss Vera Si. John showed versatility as an actress, her performance being interesting throughout. As Helen Delisse, Miss Henrietta Cavendish gave nil excellent characterisation. Mr Norman Carter sustained the broad comedy role very effectively, and Mr Campbell Copelin is of tjie free and easy athletic type, which readily makes itseelf popular. As the Divorce Court judge, Mr Frank Bradley gave a really sterling performance. Miss Sylvia Clifton takes the part of Pinker, the maid, and Jack Phillipa that of tho cabbv, very effectively ''The Unfair Sex” will be presented again this evening and on Saturday. On Monday another London success, entitled “Eliza Comes to Stay,” will be staged.
