AUSTRALIAN GRAIN CROPS
METEOROLOGIST’S REVIEW QUEENSLAND HARD HIT. T. P-graph.—Press As-sU. — CopyrUht MELBOURNE, November 17. The Commonwealth Meteorologist, in a review of the prospects of the grain harvest, says that the total yield in Queensland will not exceed 500,000 bushels of grain. Good seed supplies are assured for next year. The outlook in South Australia has been improved by good rains. Victorian crops generally are look, ing well, and good returns are anticipated. In Western Australia, good rains have maintained the early promise of an excellent yield, and crops should be a record in many districts. In New South Wales good yields from early-sown crops are practically assured, but late crops are backward, thin, and weedy, and require good rains and cool weather for satisfactory returns.
