HUTT TENNIS ASSOCIATION
FIRST ANNUAL REVIEW The first annual review of the Hutt Valley Junior Lawn Tennis Association for tho 1925-192 G season has just come to hand. At the last committee meeting of the association it was decided to commemorate tho first year’s work, and it is hoped that this publication will meet this end, and at the same time prove of interest to its members. In the early months of 1926, a Hutt Valley Association was suggested by several enthusiasts, the result being that the Western Hutt Tennis Club convened a meeting of representatives of ail clubs with a view to the formation of same. At this meeting a committee consisting of Messrs G. Barry (Catholic), N. Hayes (Methodist), I. Jones (Eastern Hutt), with A. Smith (Eastern Hutt) as enairman, nnd R. D. Smith (Western Hutt) as secretary, ; were instructed to arrange for a tournament to be held in Easter of ] that year. Greatly encouraged by the success of its first venture, tho association embarked on a more progressive policy, and the committee was increased, so that each club belonging to the association hp.d two represen' tatives. r ihis season thej-e are 10 clubs in * the association, with a total member- a s * ll P °* ?80 members and 22 courts (of l which throe are of grass).
