PERSONAL AND GENERAL (From Our Own Correspondent.) MASTERTON, November 16. A married man named Owen Q&sey was injured while working on the Rorokoko bridge, some miles from Masterton, yesterday, by a fall of earth, being rendered unconscious for some time. At the reunion of the Motor Trade Association at Masterton last night, Mr R. J. Yonpg commented strongly on _ the increasing number of motor accidents caused through intoxicated drivers, and said that eventually,’ a law would be enforced prohibiting garage proprietors from selling petrol to motorists under the influence of liquor. Yesterday local and visiting health officials made a careful inspection of the suspected centre oT the typhoid outbreak in Masterton. The effect of a careful • examination of the locality and revision ..of the measures taken was to verify the conclusions already reached. Of these conclusions, the .principal is that the source of infection has been located and effectively dealt with. No additional cases were notified yesterday, and the onlv new fact reported was that one of the patients under observation at the hospital had developed definite symptoms. The AVairarapa Oddfellows’ Lodges will hold their annual picnic at Greytown on Boxing Day. The scores in the first competition held by the Featherston Rifle Club were as follow:—H.
