There were 15 lofts j with 83 birds competing. TTiTs race | proved one of the hardest this season : o\Ving to having faced a southerly all j the way, which proved a great test ; for the birds, none arriving home on that day, so the member.-, wore early on the alert Sunday to sec the birds arrive soon atUi'Uaybreak, when they started to conic in, the , first bird arriving at 5.23 a.m. 'The liberation was made at 9.30, rather late for such a distauce. The results are as follows:—Mr W. Ferkins’s B.C.C. 715, w. 1925, arirvod shrs Omiu 23see, Ist ; Mr C. Egginton’s B.C.H----435, w. 1925, arrived shrs 12min Osec, 2ml; Mr A. Lamb’s B.CM-. 233, w. 1923, arrived shrs loniin 43soc, 3rd ; Mr E. Elliott, 384, w 1924, arrived shrs 25niin L’O.sec, 4th. Tlio race next week will be from Auckland.
