PENNY STAMPS

NEW ISSUE ON SALE Yesterday morning those who askeJ for penny stamps in the post offices throughout the country had the choice of two stamps. There was the old one which the public has seen for nearly 26 years, and the other, a new issue which made its appearance for the first time yesterday. The latter is entirely different from any seen here. It is of the familiar bright carmine colour, having as the central feature of the design a bust in profile of His Majesty King George V. in the uniform of a Field-Marshal. The artist responsible for the design is Mr H. Linley Richardson, of Wellington. and the printing has been done at the Government Printing Office in Wellington.
