BOXING
Supporters of boxing should be treated to an excellent night’s entertainment to-night. Four amateur preliminaries will be staged commencing at 7.45, followed by the principal contest between 'McCarthy and Jamito. The Victorian champion should be seen to much better advantage than when ho made his first appearance against Trowern in October last. He then entered tile ring at short notice, and was obviously not up to championship standard owing to the effect of travelling, but to-night patrons should see him at his best, and on his record he is undoubtedly one of the cleverest exponents seen here for some time. In Jamito he will bo opposed to one of the most popular exponents of the present season, and one who can be depended upon to give a fast and vigorous exhibition. Some excellent seats can still lie obtained at tho box office, and intending patrons are advised to honk at once, and save inconvenience. Doors for ticket holders will open as usual at 7 o'clock.
