YOUNG WOMAN KILLED
GIG CAPSIZES HORSE CRASHES ON TOP OF HER. Per Press Association. TAIHAPE. November 15. A fatal accident occurred three miles from Taihape on Saturday afternoon, when, a young married woman, Hazel Dean, aged 22, was killed as the result of a gig capsizing. The gig was occupied by herself, her husband, her father, ana a baby. The horse became unmanageable, and Mrs Dean jumped out, but rolled down a bank into a creek twenty feet below. The horse and gig followed, and crashed on top of Mrs Dean, killing her instantly. The other occupants were uninjured. At the inquest this morning a verdict of accidental death was returned.
