ADELPHI CABARET
“ORIENTAL WEEK” OPENS. “A night of nights” was the unanimous opinion of .the patrons of the Adelphi Cabaret last night, when Mr Rodney Pankhurst with- his usual enterprise, gave an Oriental cabaret entertainment. In Addition to the beautiful Oriental decorations which changed the atmosphere of'the dance rooms, there was an appropriate musical programme, so that for a few short hours the dancers could easily imagine themselves- many leagues' from home. An added attraction was the appearance of Sam Stern, Continental ' comedian,, who kept his audience in a continual state of merriment. . and so added greatly to the enjoyment of the evening. Exhibition waltzes and tangoes, arranged by Miss Margaret O’Connor, and Eastern ballets by Mr Knowslev, were performed with elaborate effeots. Indeed, the variety of the entertainments surprised the dancers as it pleased them. . The strains of the cabaret orchestra, under Manuel Hyman, came through the inputh of a large and forociousdooking dragon. Last night was the opening of Oriental week, and each night, during the week the programme' will include some entirely new numbers by Miss Margaret O’Connor and Sam Stern.
