CONCERT CHAMBER TO-NIGHT

NATIONAL REPERTORY THEATRE SOCIETY. Many of this society’s members and admirers have suggested that it should vary its activities, and give the public a taste of its mettle in modern comedy, The committee acceding to these suggestions requested the director, Mr Leo du Chateau, to put one of the latest Milne comedies 'into rehearsal, and so the brilliant “Ariadne or Business First” was selected with _the following castAriadne' Winter, Mrs E J. Fawcett; John Winter (her husband), Mr Vivian Rhind; Mary, Miss Louise Fitaherbert; Hector Chadwick, Mr P. B. Broad: Hester Chadwick, Miss K. Stocker; Janet Ingleby, Miss Constance Morioe; and Horace Meldrum,, Mr W. S. Wauchop. This comedy being rather short it was decided to do Oliphant Downs’s fantasy as a curtain-raiser with Miss Thyra win at Pierrette, Mr Norman Byrne as Pierrot, and Mr E. S. Baldwin as the Manufacturer. , And so these plays will he presented to-night and two following evenings, commencing at 7.55 sharp in the society’s very best manner. Entr’acte music will be played by Miss Frances Henry and Mr Keeble ' Thurkettle, and the Messrs Scoullar Company will be responsible for the furnishings.- The box plans axe at the Bristol Piano Company, who are kindly supplying, the piano.
