CORK BARRACKS RAIDED
POLICE SERGEANT SHOT DEAD CIVIC GUARDS OVERPOWERED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, November 14. A sensational series of' raids is reported from Cork City, County: Coik. Armed men operpowered the Civic Guards and ransacked the police station, removing bundles of documents and shooting dead a sergeant. ■ , (Received November 15, 5.5 p.m.) The sergeant murdered at Cork was named, Fitzsimmons. He was in charge of St. Luke’s Barracks, and was standing m a doorway. Simultaneously there were raids on other barracks.. The raiders, after removing bundles of documents, escaped. Great military activity in Cork followed the raids. '
