CABLE MISCELLANY
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received November 11, 11.89 p.m.) The Ambassadors* Conference discussed German disarmament. It i§ enacted that General Walsh (president of the Allied Control Committee) will shortly make a tour of inspection to ascertain the exact position. * • • • Garibaldi and Colonel M&cia have been arrested. Tffey were confronted in the presence of the police. Macia admitted that he corresponded with Garibaldi in August regarding machine-gun-ners, but he denied' saying he 'was aiming at a Federalist insurrection. • * • • The Imperial Conferenoe will to-day probably discuss contributions to nary defence. While Mr Coates favourably regards the share of it that New Zealand may have to bear, it is understood that Mr Bruce is not finding the position 6o easy, as Australia is committed to the building of two cruisers and two submarines, and also a floating dock. • • • • Moors attacked two French postal airplanes in the Casablanca-Bakgra service when landing at Bojad&u, set fire to the machines and mails, and took prisoner the pilots. • • • • The Lawn Tennis Association will submit at the annual meeting in December a new rule forbidding amateur players from writing Press reports or giving interviews for the same purpose in connection with tournaments, matches or competitions in which they are playing. The proposal is encountering much opposition from player-writers.
