PROSPEROUS U.SA A RECORD YEAR Australian and N.Z. Cable Association* (Received November 14, 11.5 p.m ) WASHINGTON, November 13. Treasury officials declared 1926 the most prosperous year in the history of the United States. The total deposits in 28,000 banks was 48,800 billion dollars, which was an increase of two billions over 1925. Demand deposits total 18,800 millions. A majority of the time deposits are in individual accounts (such as savings), and they increased by four thousand millions. The Christmas season will be one of the greatest buying holidays. The banks will pay Christmas savings amounting to one thousand millions early in December. It is officially stated that every business with the exception of some sections of agriculture have experienced prosperity.
