Due at Bluff yesterday from Auckland, the New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the liner Ruahine completes discharge of her 'London cargo, and continues loading for Home. TAINUI ARRIVES. With passengers, mail* and cargo, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's liner Tainui arrived in the. stream at Wellington at 4 p.m. yesterday from London and Southampton, via Panama and Pitcairn Island. Pratique wa* granted, and the vessel berthed at 7.15 p.m. at the King's wharf. The Tainui loaded her cargo in London and left at noon on October 7th. She arrived at Southampton at 2 a.m. the following day, and atfer embarking her passengers and mail* cleared there at 1.49 p.m. the same day. Colon was reached at 2 a.m. on October 23rd, ana here the passengers were taken to the main town by a special train supplied by the agents of the Tainui The vessel left Colon at 6.30 a.m. the next day, and transit through the Panama Canal wa* given the saute day. The Canal wa-s finally clearel at 1.39 pm. Pitcairn Island was reached at 2 p.m. on November 4th, and after a stay of two hours, during which the Islanders came off to the Tainui, the vessel stood on her way and Wellington wa* reached a* abovu Execept for several showers of rain, tho Tainui experienced exceptionally fine weather and smooth seas for the voyage out. Nothing of an exciting nature occurred during the voyage until Saturday last, wh.-m the Tainui passed a school of whales. The usual deck games and dances, etc., were held. She in scheduled to clear Montreal on November 25th. HARMATTAN WITH SUGAR. Carrying a cargo of sugar, the 9teamer Harmattan arrived from Chba at Auckland on Friday morning. She anchored in the stream, where she will remain until the Rona completes her discharge at Cheelsea. Loading all her cargo at Cuba, the Harmattan sailed on October 3rd, Fine* weather was experienced to Colon, where the vessel arrived on October Bth. Tho, ship went through the Panama Canal, and reSnmcd her voyage on the saine day. Comihg across thfc pacific Ocean the Harmattan called at Papeete on October 30fcli for bunkers. With the exception of two days' boisterous weather When the steamer was nearing Papeete, the conditions in the Pacific were favourable. A vessel of 2700 tons net, the Harmattan, which is owned by the Willis, S.S. Company, Limited 1 , was launched from R- Duncan and Company's yards Port Glasgow, in 1918.
