THE WORLD’S LARGEST ORGAN
Liverpool Cathedral organ, which cost £35,000, has been completed. The dedication of the magnificent instrument will be an event in organ building in Britain, for the organ is famous not only as the largest in the world, wit also as teing constructed on the latest and most approved principles. I'olli as regards mechanism and tonal ideas. The organ comprises five mangels and 168 speaking stops. The largest organ in England ur> till now had been that in the Royal Albert Hall, erected in 1871 and the largest cathedral organ in St. Paul’s Cathedral, rebuilt in 1901. Jt may bo said, regarding the tonal forces oi the Liverpool Cathedral organ that no organ of to-dav evinces such progressive traits. An authority says it reflects all the best in the tonal schemes of the past.
