YESTERDAY’S CONFERENCE. COMMISSIONER CONTROL OPPOSED. The conference resumed its sitting: yesterday morning, and dealt principally with association matter's in the earlier part of the day, including the adoption of the balance-sheet. , The matter of Public Service' Commissioner control was discussed, and the following resolution was carried unnui mously:—"That this conference, on behalf of the whole service, oppose any movement to bring tire P. and T. Department under the control of the Public Service 1 Commissioner”; .also that the resolution bo forwarded to ail members of Parliament. Tho outstanding war bonus, as promised by Six' J; U. Ward, was also considered, and it was decided to bring tho matter before, the members of Par liiament, and urge upon them tho necssity for doing justice to the claims of rhe service. During the afternoon tho postal representatives, of the Appeal Board, Mr C. G. Camp, attended the conference upon invitation, and gave an address upon matters concerning tho Appeal Board. Ho also replied to several questions, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The Ser.vice representative on tho Promotion Board, Mr M. J. Mulvey, was also Invited to attend and enlighten tho members of the conference on matters relating to the work of th© board, which ho aid, and upon conclusion received tho appreciation of those present. ‘' ’
