LONDON WOOL SALES LOWER PRICES RULING. ■fin following telegram, dated June 12th, 1920, from the Director of Raw Materials, has been received by the partment of Imperial Government Supplies: —"London sales closed June 12th with weak to no. During the auction soma 91,600 bales have been offered, of •which about 49,000 have been sold. As compared with London April-May final rates wo quote: —Merinos, 25 per cent, lower; fine crossbreds, 15 per cent, lower; medium crossbreds, 7J per cent, lower; coarse crossbreds, nominaUy, 15 per cent. lower; fine crossbreds, scoureds and slipes, 15 per cent.; coarse scoureds and elipes, nominally, 20 per cent, lower. Demand for coarse crossbred, greaser, scoureds and slipea was very limited, and exceptionally large quantities of them were withdrawn." Messrs Levin and C 0. ,, Ltd., hate received the following cable from London, dated June 12th, 1920:—"As compared wm. tile opening- sales the March dos- I (ng sales show merinos 5 per cent, lower, nno crossbreds and medium crossbreds 2i per cent, cheaper, scanted and slipe wools 3J per cent, lower." Make is reported to be large, and export is in-s creasing. HEMP. Manila market is dull and dropping. *J” grade, February-April to April-June jlipments quoted at X 59 sellers: JulyBeptember shipment sold X 62 10s early this week,- but later down to X6O. Output January Ist to May 31st, _ 526,000 bales, against 450,000 same ■ period _ last year. Shipments to England, 247,000, against 106.000. New Zealand market is dull and depressed. Present quotations are:—Spot, Highpoints, XSB; fair,_ X 56; Starch-May shipment, X 54 and X 52 respectively sellers. WOOL; Wool sales lave closed. Attendance has been good throughout, but demand poor, and large proportion withdrawn. - Merinos have declined 25.. per. cent, crossbreds fine sold at reduction of 13 per cent, medium 5 per cent to 10 per cent.; coarse offerings small, and withdrawn at a decline of nominally 10 ;tr rent. Average current values New Zealand crossbreds, fine 2s 4d to 3s; medium, is lOd to 2s 4d; coarse. Is 4d to Is 8d nominal. Feeling here is that owing to exceptionally, large quantities markeited during the Hast six months, trade needed breathing space. SUPPLY OF FOWL WHEAT. Fha question of the distribution of she supply of fowl wheat was placed hofore the Minister for Agriculture (the Hon. W. Nosworthy) by a deputation from the Taranaki Egg Circle. Tho Minister said that there was only a limited iupply in the Dominion, and it was controlled by the Wheat Control Board. Ho promised to go into the whole question when in Wellington.
