MEAT FAMINE IN SYDNEY
QUESTION OF SUPPLIES PROM NEW ZEALAND. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright (Received June 14, 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Juno 14. Sydney is now faced with a meat famine. Inquiries have been made for supplies of mutton from Xw Zealand, but an obstacle in the way is the import duty of 3d per pound, which puts the article out of reach unless the Federal 6o%'ernment can be persuaded to suspend the duty. No difficulty is anticipated in securing the suspension.
