Bailey (chairman) presided over last night's weekly meeting of the Referees' Association, which was orie of the most successful, from an educational point of view, held for several years. Besides various rulings under discussion there were several important matters dealt with for the welfare of the association. • '—,,,. It was decided to thank tho Wellington Rugby Union for their action in making arrangements for accommodation of referees desirous of witnessing representative matohes. Dissatisfaction was expressed at recent reported decisions of the union on bad language and another case, and it was decided to request the Rugby Union to notify decisions arrived. Members were freely of opinion that more drastic sentences must be meted out in future.
