AGRICULTURAL MATTERS
MEETING OP MASTERTON COMMITTEE. RENEWAL OF EXPERIMENTS ADVOCATED. (By Telegraph—Special -to “Times.”) . MASTERTON. Juno 12. The monthly meeting of the general committee of the Masterton Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held this afternoon. The treasurer reported a debit balance of £2410. The receipts for the month totalled £232 3s 6d, and the expenditure £403 10s 2d. It was decided to forward a remit to the Agricultural Conference urging that County Councils, Agricultural Societies, and kindred societies he asked to renew their efforts in connection with agricultural experiments, and another remit, urging the standardisation of school books throughout the Dominion.
Messrs W. Perry, D. Smith, and J. C. MoKillop wore appointed delegates to the Agricultural Conference to he held at Wellington. •The Now Zealand Friesian Association donated a gold medal for the most points in Friesian classes at tho next show and a prize of £3 3s for the best bullock.
It was decided that the sheep and draught-horse judging competitions he held on the first clay. Five resignations of membership were accepted.
