MAKARA COUNTY

MONTHLY MEETING OF COUNCIL. The monthly meeting of the Makara County Council was held yesterday, when there were present: Councillors E. Windlcy (chairman), D. Prosser, L. D. Nairn, W. E. Cook, and S. Bowler. Permission was granted to, two residents of Titaln Bay to erect motorboat sheds on a site ns submitted on plan ; and it was recommended that adjoining owners of sections concerned should approve of the scheme and allow the usual portion to be enclosed. Tho original motion to construct a wooden bridge at Ngahauranya Gorge was rescinded, and it was decided to construct a concrete bridge. The clerk was instructed to prepare plans, and submit them to the Wellington Citr Council’s engineer, with the ronuest that the council carry out the work, at tho Makara County’s expense.

An application from Messrs Duggan Bros, to erect boiling-down works m Ngahaurannn G-krrre was refused.
