It was contended that consumers would benefit materially if ’tlio export evidenco that would be tendered by selected members of the institute was given effect to, and that it was possible to increase railway freights to an extent commensurate with tho added expenditure Involved in the recent and prospective increases in salaries and wages, without leaving a loophole for a consequent rise? in prices of the necessities of life in this country.
