PRISONERS SENTENCED

At the Supreme Court yesterday His Honour the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) sentenced Colin McKenzie, alias Chadwick, to a month’s imprisonment (accumulative) on each of nine charges of false pretences, theft, and forgery and uttering, at Danncvirke, Napier, and Greytown —nine months in all—and declared him an habitual criminal.

James George Tracey, for theft ns a servant at Napier, was sentenced to seven years’ detention for reformative purposes.
