LEAGUE FOOTBALL
MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. A meeting of the management Committee of the Rugby League was held last evening. Mr E. 0. Evans pro-. sided, and the other delegate® present were: Messrs O: Murphy, J.. SVlurphv, A. Dobson, A. Wolf, F- ° - Connell, H. Hyndman, and E. CpopMr G. Hit Scales wrote from -America accepting the position of president. The Canterbury League suggested August 14th as the day _on which tho annual interprovmoial. game should be played, but as- this date clashed with the . dates for tho English tour it was resolved to suggest that the match he played on July 14th. ' , , It was pointed out that the toolshed available at Emerson' street reserve as a dressing-shed was inadequate for the purpose and would not accommodate more than sis pla-yci'S. As tho men were at present required to undress in the open and in full view of ladies playing golf, the council is to be requested to. provide jnore suitable accommodation. The 'chairman reiterated tho fact that the committee had offered to build a shed provided tho council provided the material, hut the offer was not accepted. Ho stated that it was a disgrace to expect players to dress and undress in tho .openLEAGUE GAMES FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. The following are the League fixtures for Saturday'.— Senior: Potone v. Newtown, at Petone, 3 p.m. • referee, Mr G. Bradley. 1 Suburbs v. Athletic, at Newtown Park, 3 p.m.; referee, Mr Martin.
Junior: Central v. Athletic, at Newtown Park, 1.30 p.m. Rovers v. Suburbs, at Emerson street, 3 p.m.; referee, Mr Evans. ‘ Petone North v. Petone, at Hutt Park, 3 p.m.; referee, Mr Wrack.
