In the House' of Commons at question time Mr Austin ■ Chamberlain (Chancellor of tho Exchequer) stated that after carefully considering the suggested scheme for a levy on war wealth in the report of the. Committee on War ’ Wealth the Government hacf concluded that the dangers of such a levy altogether outweighed: its advantages; Therefor© it had decided, not to take tho proposals in that sense.
