The steamer AVairau, now undergoing alterations at AVellington, is expected, to be ready to sail for Picton on Monday. , - Captain D. J. Watson, formerly secretary of the Alerchant Service Guild, is at present in the AVellington Hospital severely indisposed. The coastal steamer Huia is due back at Wellington to-morrow morning from Wanganui, and is to sail to-morrow evening on the return trip. The AVhite Star liner Gallic-, after replenishing her bunkers in the stream a*. Wellington, sailed at 3.10 p.m. yesterday for Lyttelton to complete her loading for London.

The steamer AVaverley, which is in the shipwright’s hands, is expected to bo ready to leave Wellington for Patea about the end of this week. The AVakatu and Karaka were taken up on the AVellington patent slip yesterday. The former will be on the cradle for several days to undergo a general overhaul. The Karaka, after being cleaned and painted, will be relaunched to-day.

The Union Company advise that the Flora is duo at AVellington at the end of this week from Timaru and will load general cargo hero for Greymouth. Tho Union Cornpa ;ir advise that the Corinna is’duo at AVellington' next Week from New Plymouth with dairy produce. The AVaihora is expectfed to complete the discharge of her cargo of coal from Newcastle in time for the vessel to sail to-morrow for Sydney. Tho Kaiapoi is expected to get away from AVellington on Saturday for Greymouth.

The Kahika is to leave AVellington this afternoon for AVestport to load coal for Lyttelton.

Tho Zoalandic is to leave Wellington to-morrow for Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due back hero on the 26th inst. to complete Homeward loading. The Karamu is due again at AVellington next week from Greymouth with a cargo of coal. • ~ Tho Canterbury Company’s steamer Calm, due at AVellington to-day from Lyttelton, is to leave here on Friday for Dunedin, Timaru and Lyttelton, 'taking cargo. From Lyttelton tho vessel is to proceed to Oastlecliff (AVanganui) with cargo. The Komata is to leave Westport this afternoon for AVellington, where she is due to-morrow evening with a load ot coal. The vessel will sail from AVellington on Saturday or Monday on the return trip to Westport, taking passengers. ... .

Tho Huddart-Parker steamer Riverina, which passed through AVellington yesterday bound for Lyttelton and Dunedin, is duo back hero on Tuesday morning from tho southern ports. Tho vessel will sail from AVellington on Tuesday evening for Napier, Gisborne, Auckland, and Sydney.

The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner lonic is expected to get away from AVellington at 4 p.m. to-dav for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers.

The steamer Inga berthed at Greymouth on Monday night to load timber for Sydney. Telegraphic advice received yesterday states that the vessel is expected to leave Greymouth on Saturday for the N.S.W. port. Tho Canadian Governmenf steamer Canadian Eixporter is to leave AVellington at daybreak to-day for Auckland and A’ancouver.

Tho Schwarzenfels is now expected to leave Auckland at noon to-day for Wellington with remainder of cargo of basic phosphates from Safaga, Red Sea. Tiie barquentine AVanganui is to l;o moved out to tho .stream from the wharf this morning, preparatory to sailing today or to-morrow for Greymouth to load timber for Sydney. The steamer John is now not expected to leave AVellington until to-morrow with a load, of coke for Lyttelton. Captain A. E. Hunter Purvis, who has been conducting a hotel in a North Island town for a considerable time, has taken command of the auxiliary schooner Lily. Mr L. P. O’Connell joined the vessel as engineer, Mr R. D. Brebner has joined the Maori as third officer.

Mr E. MoMurtrie, assistant purser of tho Maori, has signed off the ship's articles.

The Government steamer Hinomoa left Opua yesterday for Awanuj. The ICokiri left Wellington last night for Greymouth to bring another cargo of coal back to this -port. The American four-maated schooner Tacoma, which has recently been purchased by Captain E. E. Sterling and renamed' the Helen B. Sterling, has been chartered to load coal at Newcastle for Auckland. Pratique was granted and the vessel berthed at No. 16, Jenvois quay, at 7.20 o’clock last night. The vessel then discharged until 10 p.m. , Theiloeraki left Sydney at 3.30 p.m. on Friday and during the first two aays out' encountered heavy weather. Fine conditions ihen prevailed until arrival.
