The going was in a heavy state from the recent, rains and fog enveloped the course early in the day, but it cleared before the first race came on. They leaped the stone wall almost simultaneously, and raced to tho last hurdle on close terms, which both leaped in fine style Slowcoach hung on gamely to his task, but Lochella always had the best of his young rival, and th» favourite galloped home a winner by two lengths and a half.
