U.S. PRESIDENCY
,iIK HOOVER IX THE BOOM. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received Juno 7, 10.30 p.m.) NEW YORK. June 7. The “New York' Times” correspondent at Chicago says that with tho Republican Convention only a few days off no ono can even hazard or guess as to who will be nominated. However, a considerable boom lor Air H. G. Hoover slanted to-night, but tho boomers have not yet come out into tho own. though it is whispered that big interests are backing him. It is argued that Hr Hoover is a friend of tho League of Nations and the League supporters will naturally back him. It would seem to-night, however, that Hr Johnson is favourite.
Women arc expected to play a big part in thi* year’* Presidential nomination.
