A report presented to the annual c-iMifereu.ce of the Australian Labour Party warned members that with tho Government's narrow majority it was best not to expect too much. If it were found impossible to carry out tho party’s programme another appeal would he made to tho people for more power. Tho report urged the need of terminating tho leases of millions of acres hold by large companies and financial institutions to provide living areas for thousands of land seekers, who arc unable to obtain land.. I*, condemned proportional representatian and the preferential voting system, under wJncn electors were hoodwinked, and were unahld to got a square deal. The report pressed the need for harniouious relations between the party and tlie Labour Council, but in order to secure tills it was absolutely irapoiaitivo that the personnel, of council ofheials should he - changed, otherwise unity of' effort would he out of tho question.
