XBAA r WORKING CONDITIONS
Tho workers in the mutch manufacturing industry arc seeking amended workunr conditions, and in order to have recognition of their demands are attempting to/reconstruct their old union, which became defunct in 191 i. With this object in view a meeting of employees in match factories is to' be held at the Trades Hall, Vivian street, this evening. When the union is again formed, it is proposed to obtain a. new award or agreement and have it registered. Tho business at to-night’s mooting will be principally confined to the election of officers, a management Committee, etc. It, is understood them ore only two mut-clv manufactories in the —-one in Wellington, employing about p,fl hands, and the other in the South Island.
