We held a sale of hides, tallow, etc. Hides. —Thera was the usual bench of exporters present, but Die. a (tendance of tanners w.xs very small, and prices wore very erratic. In .sympathy wiln the -vustraiiaiu market and practically no American demand, business was only possible at an all-round decline for all sorts. As compared with the values current at the sale held a fortnight ago, ox and cow hides showed a decline, ■ irresp.-c----tivo of weight and condition, of from 4d to 6d per lb, whilst kip and yearling wore from 4RI to 9sd .per lb lower. Calfskin?! wero from J2Jd to 16Jd per lb lower. ABRAHAM AND WILLIAMS. We offered a fair catalogue of all classes at the hide sale to a full bench) of buyers. Bidding was keen at a much lower range compared with last sales, on account of the adverse reports of overseas markets. bound hides showed a decline of 5d to 6d per lb, whilst damaged hides declined 6d to Su per lb and calfskins receded to the extent or Kid to ISd per lb. Tallow was firm, at late rates. MURRAY. ROBERTS AND CO. We submitted a catalogue of 2GOO hides and calfskins at our sale, the usual buyers attending. As was anticipated, a sharp decline took place, m sympathy with outside markets. The fall was most pronounced in inferior and slippy, grades, especilly light-weights and calfskins, which wero difficult of sale. Tallow was about on a par with | last sale. j DALGETY AND COMPANY.

Wo held our usual fortnightly sale, when wo offered a good catalogue of hides to the usual attendance ot buyers. When compared with the price's realised on May 21st, the drop in hides, and particularly calfskins, is very considerable; but in view of the gradual dec.reafo in prices which has been taking place in iother centres, the fall was no more than was anticipated by brokers. Competition was very dull, and prices for ox and cow hides declined from 5d to 7d ■per lb when compared with last sale’s rates. Yearlings declined 8d per lb, and calfskins from 12d to 14d. Tallow sold at rates on a par with those ruling at our last sale.
