SENIOR COMPETITION WAKATU, UNITED. WELLINGTON, AND RAMBLERS WIN. The senior championship matches of the Wellington Hookey Association were advance,! another stage on . Saturday at Karori Park. a. fair nnmber of spectators assembled, and as the afternoon remained fine and the play was close they were treated to some good displays and interesting contests. The playing fields were heavy after the heavy rains, but taken all round play was of a fast orderWAKATU v. CENTRAL. Wakatu. who are leading for the championship, kept up their record by defeating Central decisively by six goals to two. Ihe game was very even in the first spell, Wilson and Hood registering for Wakatu, and Cathro for CentralIn the second spell, however, Wakatu had the play all on their own, and Wilson added two more goals, while Whittaker and Stratton contributed one each. Cahro, for Central, was also successful In finding thb not in the second spell. WELLINGTON v. UNIVERSITY. After a strenuous and fast contest Wellington only managed to defeat University, a team showing on improvement each Saturday, by .two goals to one. Ashwin and Champness scored for Wellington and Stainton for ’Varsity. Referee, Air Scott. UNITED v, HUIA. ■ This game proved also very fast, and was .not, .as. the scores six to two in United’s favour, would indicate Although defeated, Huia played a fine game, tad luck preventing them from increasing their score. Littlejohn and Halo-wood scored for Huia, and L. Boyd (0), Bmeny (3), and Rickards for United. Mr Gracie was the referee. RAMBLERS v. KARORI. Ramblers had no difficulty in dispoe ing of Karori, to the tune of nine' goals to three. Loader (3). Heaphy (1), Smith (4), and Frederickson (1). were the scorers for Ramblers, while Watson (2), and Kilmistcr scored for Karori. Referee, Mr B. A. Ginger. JUNIOR MATCHES. Karori (two)_ defeated Wellington (one goal). Each side scored a goal by knock, lag the ball in their own goal. Walters secured the deciding goal for Karori. •Huia disposed, of University B by five to one. For the winners. Clark (2), Guy (2) and' Butcher (D scored, and for University, McNab. Mr Wheatley refereed. Wesley A defeated Wesley B by five goals to nil. Buxton, James. Stokes, Mills, and Wilcox scored. Referee, Mr Muir.
■Wesley Rovers were defeated by University Abv eix goals to three. Miles (3), Gibbs ?2),_ and Sheat (1) wore the scorers for University, and Collins. Miles and Johnston for Wesley Rovers.
