CHESS MATCH
CANTERBURY v. WELLINGTON. The a'nnual telegraphic match between the above clubs was concluded on Saturday evening. THanas to a very prompt start and the excellent services of the various officials mentioned in last week s report, record progress was made, not a single game being marked incomplete when play teased shortly after XX, p.m. A number of visitors dropped in to see tho play, including Mr H. D. Brown, hon. secretary Auckland Chess Club, and Mr A. .Whitaker, hon. secretary Palmerston North Chess Club.
